Our goal for 2025 is to award $40 thousand dollars in scholarships for deserving students to continue their educational endeavors. We know there are many needs and many worthwhile causes for your contributions, and we deeply appreciate your support through these times.
On May 23, 2025, at 8:00 am, the Rev. Dr. A.W. Watkins Scholarship Foundation will host its 18th Annual Rev. Dr. A.W. Watkins Charity Golf Tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Prattville, Alabama. The mission of the Foundation is to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the Central Alabama area and sophomores or juniors enrolled in the Bible and Pastoral Ministry from Selma University. Through the generosity from companies like yours and many individuals’ donations, the Foundation has awarded $309,400.00 in scholarships to 283 students throughout the Central Alabama area. All foundation events will follow COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control and local authorities.
We are seeking tournament sponsors and participants for this upcoming event. As a community, we can help the leaders of tomorrow reach their full potential by giving them the academic tools which will enhance their talents. One of the key factors to the success of our scholarship program has been through continued sponsorship and charity donations from individuals, local businesses, and corporations like yours. Your company’s generosity can help make a student’s dream come true by affording them the opportunity to attend college in this time of economic crisis and budgets cuts. Sponsorship of the 18th Annual Rev. Dr. A.W. Watkins Charity Golf Tournament 2025 will provide businesses considerable exposure and marketing. Our mission is to spread love by any means necessary and we have chosen the beloved game of golf.
