On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and thanks for your support of the 17th Annual Rev. Dr. A. W. Watkins Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament. This year's tournament was played on the Senator Course of the Capitol Hill Golf Club, Prattville, Alabama. The tournament was a total success due to the numerous corporate and individual sponsors/donors, and there were 76 golfers participating in this year’s tournament. Additionally, 35 of the 47 scholarship recipients were present. I want to especially, thank all the volunteers for providing their support to the tournament. Because of the level of participation and generosity of many, the Foundation was able to invest a total of $45,800.00 to assist 47 aspiring students through scholarships. Since 2005 the Foundation has awarded $309,400.00 in scholarships to 283 deserving students.
Your investment towards the Foundation's efforts is allowing 47 aspiring students to continue their educational endeavors at an institution of higher learning. Again, I want to personally thank you for investing in our Nation's future, which is our youth. The 2024 scholarship recipients are our future leaders.
As a friendly reminder, the Rev. Dr. A. W. Watkins Scholarship Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Therefore, your golf entry fees, sponsorship and donations are tax deductible for 2024. One hundred percent (100%) of your donation goes to the Foundation for scholarships.
